Not One More: Claudia Rueda and ICE Out of LA — A Ground Game LA Documentary
Claudia Rueda’s story is an immediate local example of the malignancy of the Trump administration’s anti-immigration policies.
Claudia Rueda’s story is an immediate local example of the malignancy of the Trump administration’s anti-immigration policies reaching into our most vulnerable communities. It also highlights the need for local leaders to focus first and foremost on taking care of their residents in this moment of crisis, and not appeasing the federal government in these dangerous times.
Rueda, a college student at Cal State Los Angeles who was picked up by Border Patrol in a retaliatory action for an affidavit she had given on behalf of her mother, is a DACA eligible student in our community. And yet she and thousands like her are under threat while the federal government imposes draconian measures to target immigrant groups, and our mayor is too busy courting the Olympics to do anything to stop federal agents from picking people up on specious grounds.
This short documentary on Rueda, made by Ground Game LA’s media team, Alejandra Marchevsky, Miranda Cristofani, Timothy Hayes, tells her story. Additional footage provided by Latif Bin-Abd Shahid. Please watch and share.
